Unless you’ve googled me, you may not know much about my professional background. I began my newsletter about menopause nutrition after writing a book with my friend and fellow registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), Hillary Wright. The book is The Menopause Diet Plan, A Natural Guide to Managing Hormones, Health, and Happiness.
My co-author Hillary Wright, MEd, RDN and me.
Hillary and I met in college and after becoming RDNs, each of us went on to specialize in different areas of women’s health. We live near each other, both of us have three children, and we’ve been working in the nutrition field for more than three decades. When we started asking each other questions about menopause nutrition and lifestyle a few years ago, we discovered a lack of science-based information on the topic.
So, we wrote a book.
Though I’ve been focused on writing and speaking about menopause nutrition and other nutrition topics for the past few years, I also have 15 years of experience in direct patient care. I’m the author of several other books, including one about pregnancy nutrition and two about feeding young children. I blog twice a month for WebMD about gut health and I write regularly for NextAvenue.org on a variety of nutrition topics that affect people over the age of 50. In addition to my nutrition communications work, I’m also a recipe developer and food photographer. Here is one of my creations:

But enough about me.
I Need Your Help
I think I know what you want to hear about menopause nutrition and lifestyle, but I’m not always right.
For example, this post is far more popular than I would have ever expected, while this post has received a lukewarm response.
This is where you come in.
Would you let me know what topics are most interesting to you? What do you struggle with when it comes to nutrition and lifestyle habits? What kind of help you need? What do you wish I would write about?
Please leave your comments below.
Thank you for your time!
To be honest, I’m perimenopausal so I’m trying to create a mindset and habits that will help when I’m in the thick of it, so lifestyle tips and suggestions (the first post) are what I benefit from. Yet, the why and the science that comes with tips are helpful too.
My struggle is that my meal prep is hit or miss, and i eat fast food a lot. Im trying to figure out how to cook for one as well
